Orbis and H.V. Desai Eye Hospital Inaugurate Satara Green Vision Center

Orbis and PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital to provide primary eye care and quality optical services to the communities through the newly launched Green Vision Center at Satara.

Orbis, in partnership with PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital inaugurated the Green Vision Center (GVC) in Satara, Maharashtra. The center is aimed at providing primary eye care and quality optical services to the communities in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.

Green Vision Center is an innovative approach where a vision center is transformed through a combination of using clean solar-powered electricity, energy efficient electrical fixtures and appliances, and digital data management.

Green Vision Cen­ters are a cru­cial con­nect with the com­mu­ni­ties. Oper­at­ing at the inter­face of sus­tain­abil­i­ty and eye care, the Green Vision Cen­ters are the next step in pro­pelling the com­mu­ni­ties towards unin­ter­rupt­ed access to eye health ser­vices, while con­tribut­ing to the sus­tain­able devel­op­ment goals.

The GVC has also been designed to address the long-drawn issue of data management. They are deployed with digital data management software which enables better patient care and patient data management, improving continuity of care, and reducing the use of paper. Hence, better response and planning can be achieved by stakeholders and government due to the availability of real-time data.
