The webinars were organized under the Santen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Orbis International initiative, aimed at building training capacity of eye health professionals on Glaucoma.

Artificial Intelligence in Glaucoma

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more common for screening, diagnosing and helping treat eye conditions. The technology already is used in online search engines, speech recognition tools and other smart devices. Now, AI is showing promise in healthcare.

Implementation of AI strategies offers an opportunity to address the global challenge to meet the increasing need for glaucoma care and significant research has been performed to explore this field. Deep integration of ophthalmology and artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize current disease diagnose pattern and generate a significant clinical impact.

Cybersight Consult supports Artificial Intelligence (AI) grading of colour fundus images attached to consultation cases. The system is capable of detecting and visualising glaucoma, macular disease and diabetic retinopathy. Massive amounts of data and growing computing power are fuelling these advanced, algorithm-based technologies.

This service is available free of charge to eye health professionals.
