Grants Manager-India Country Office


The Grants Manager would directly report to the Director-Finance and work with the Orbis India program team, and also the Orbis Global Finance team.

Project Orbis International Inc., India Country Office (Orbis) is seeking applications for the role of Grants Manager.


Under the general supervision of the Director-Finance, the Grants Manager would have to coordinate various financial activities within the India Country Program. S/he will assist the Director – Finance in the assessment of new partners and periodic review of the existing ones. S/he will provide necessary support in the reviewing partner financial statements.


The Grants Manager would directly report to the Director-Finance and work with the Orbis India program team, and also the Orbis Global Finance team. External working relationships would include working with project management team and other eye health professionals within partner hospitals and clinics, academic institutions collaborating with Orbis, auditors etc.


  1. Assist in partner assessments before any new collaboration and periodic reviews of existing partners
  2. To review the Partner Financial Statements / Reports and seek clarifications, if needed
  3. Ensure that all guidelines and reporting requirements have been complied with while compiling Partner Financial reports on a monthly basis.
  4. Assist in building the capacity of the partner organizations and financial reviews.
  5. Produce a monthly report for management on the status of all assigned grants
  6. Support the Director -Finance in developing reports for top management summarizing the business financial position in areas of income, expenses, cash flows etc
  7. Prepare key compliance checklists as per donor contracts for all restricted donor grants
  8. Support the Director – Finance and Program Team in the preparation and submission of restricted donor report
  9. Coordinating grant audits and ensuring follow up and implementation of recommendations
  10. Assist in development and appraisal of new projects and the preparation of new proposals as requested by the Program Team.
  11. Support the Director-Finance in the development, monitoring and review of annual budget of the Country Office and restricted donor budget.
  12. Support the Program Team in managing project budgets and ensure utilization of all available funding and to make sure the project expenditures are in line with approved budget.
  13. Ensure timely review and posting of transactions in prescribed software, reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts, and submission of month end report submitted to Orbis International
  14. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Country Director / Director – Finance.


  • Master’s in management/commerce with good academic record; MBA Finance /CA will be preferred
  • At-least 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills required along with computer and Internet competency; must be a team player with good leadership and managerial skills.
