JOB SUMMARY

Orbis is looking to amplify Cybersight’s (information link below) reach and use in India. Orbis seeks to increase capacity to detect, diagnose and treat blinding eye conditions by supporting more ophthalmic professionals in India to maximize innovative telehealth tools in the areas of consultation, mentorship, online training and live surgical mentorship. To achieve this, Orbis India is looking for a dynamic Clinical Application Specialist who thrives on attracting and retaining new clients and partners. Serving as Orbis India’s Cybersight ambassador, the Clinical Application Specialist will play a key role in raising awareness of, promoting, increasing and maintaining the utilization of Cybersight products, platforms and services amongst the ophthalmic community in India.

REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Clinical Application Specialist would report to the Country Director-Orbis India and would work with the Orbis India program team as well as the Orbis International telehealth team. External working relationships would include working with ophthalmologists and other eye health professionals within partner hospitals and clinics, academic institutions collaborating with Orbis, professional associations, ophthalmic institutions, professional bodies and networks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Identify and build relationships with existing and new Orbis clients and partners in India to demonstrate and promote Cybersight products, platforms and services: this includes ophthalmologists and other medical and clinical staff within eye units, academic institutions, ophthalmic teaching institutions, and professional bodies and networks.
  2. Understand clinical advice and support needs and training and professional development requirements of new and existing clients and partners and support their registration, enrolment, and ongoing use of Cybersight’s services.
  3. Explore and implement strategies to increase Indian ophthalmic community’s use of Cybersight beyond ophthalmologists to greater numbers of ophthalmic nurses, optometrists and technicians.
  4. Represent Orbis and attract new Cybersight users at ophthalmic and other health conferences and events within the region, including set up and manning of Cybersight display and demonstration booths.
  5. Track Cybersight registration and ongoing user statistics of Cybersight’s different services in India (e-consultation and mentorship, free online courses, live teaching) and provide monthly reports and analysis to Orbis India and Orbis International.
  6. Test cost-efficient and simple incentivization methods to increase sign-up and use of Cybersight.
  7. Collaborate with Orbis India program team to better integrate Cybersight products and services into the design of new and ongoing training programs with Orbis partners.
  8. Liaise with partners to coordinate efficient planning and execution of hospital-based trainings. This will include partner and trainee assessments, use of Cybersight for pre-screening and post-HBT follow-up, relevant credentialing, live broadcasts/webinar and reporting.
  9. Identify and understand potential barriers to use of Cybersight products and services in India and make recommendations to Orbis for future telemedicine developments and improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or BSc degree in Optometry or relevant clinical field
  • 5+ years of clinical experience, with some training experience preferred
  • Understanding of and experience in public health preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting and selling products and services preferred

  • Ability to travel frequently (domestically)
